Scars and Half a Heart

You held yourself up so high, trying to win a game.
Little did you know, you're the only one who played.
Now you're falling back, falling further into your mind.
You're all alone to live with your own crime.

You made your moves and burned your bridges,
Learned to deal with the cuts and the stitches.
You played the wild card in so many different cases.
The cases all talked and learned of your true traces.

Not one by one, but not all together, they left you.
You begged and pleaded, saying there was another truth.
It was no use. There's a difference of what you say and do.
Sitting lonely in the middle of the night, know what you got to do.

You're trying to get back into their good graces.
They're no longer enemies but friendly faces.
You're patching up wounds that have split open.
Will they ever heal again? The bandage's broken.

Choosing your alliances with articulation,
But you got caught in another manipulation.
Relentlessly, tried to be the one to have all the control.
When you look around, you're the one who's all alone.

You're still sitting here, staring at an empty wall
With scars and half a heart from it all.
You're still sitting here, staring at a bunch of scars
With only a patched up, lonely heart.
