Melt Your Memory

There comes a time when the only thing we can do is let go.

~ Ease your mind. ~

We're diseased to be mortal.
We're cursed to remember.
There's no definition of normal.
There's no such anecdote for the cure.

There's scenes playing in our minds,
Taunting us from better days.
Reminding us of what we can't find.
Reminding us of what's taken away.

We're grasping onto the past now,
So tightly with our callus fists
That we're bleeding out cries,
With nails jammed into wrists.

All it takes is the notion of release,
Letting go of the pressure
In our fists causing the replay of scenes.
Finally free, evil will be pure pleasure.

If we forget the ability to think,
It'll just melt your memory away.
The scenes that have been links
To the past will no longer cause any pain.

There will no longer be a chain
Caging you with your demons.
No ties binding minds to the insane,
Lost in the ills of your own freedoms.

Easier said than played out
Because the mind is a funny thing.
To forget, we take purple pills now.
To forget, we become numb to the scenes.

We fall deeply into a dark sleep.
Deeper into our greatest fantasies.
We grasp onto the memories we keep.
We grasp onto thoughts of finding peace.
